Introduction: Alcohol abuse is one of most harmful and most costly drug use problems worldwide. However, little is known about short-term changes of the protein metabolism in response to socially consumed amounts of alcohol. Aim of the Study: To investigate the whole-body protein turnover, either before or after continuous, moderate ethanol-induced oxidative stress by red wine consumption over a relatively short period in healthy subjects.
