Reliable data, however, are lacking. Methods: Within a cross-sectional study, plasma levels of vitamin A, C, E, beta-carotene, 25(OH)D as well as prealbumin and cholesterol were determined in 44 trauma patients (55±21yrs, BMI 25.9±5.0kg/m2) with DWH (wound not closed or persisiting secretion within 10 days post surgery or trauma) and 45 trauma patients (62±17yrs, BMI 25.7±6.6kg/m2) with regular wound healing (control).
