Aim: To evaluate new established index (NPI – Nutrition and Prognosis Index – Kohout) and compare its value with patients clinical data and economic aspects of their treatment Introduction: The lot of indices were used to measure nutritional status and count the risk of complication because of poor nutrition, risk of surgical procedure, mortality, lenght of hospital stay and/or ICU stay. Low level of albumine, cholesterol and lymphocyte count are used solely in some indices, there are no correlations between these markers.
