Objective: Intradialytic parenteral nutrition (IDPN) has been recommended for malnourished patients on hemodialysis (HD) therapy when nutrient intake cannot be improved by other interventions. However, there is ongoing discussion on the feasibility and efficiency of this therapeutic intervention and especially, the magnitude of amino acid losses during IDPN.
