Zusammenfassung

No formal training is required to work as a fitness instructor in Switzerland. Fitness instructors are often asked for nutritional advice by their clients. The aim of our study was to evaluate nutritional knowledge of instructors working in any of the 27 commercial fitness centres of Geneva. A previously tested questionnaire was distributed to instructors working in the 19 participating centres. The questionnaire contained closed and open questions addressing nutritional concepts in relationship to physical activity and sports.
