Purpose: Oral supplements are one possibility to raise energy intake in patients. Within a randomized controlled intervention trial on the effect of a multifactorial nutritional intervention in malnourished patients, the compliance of oral supplement consumption was evaluated. Patients and methods: Compliance was evaluated by comparing the amount consumed with the one prescribed. A five-item score was applied taking into account the patients reliability and assistance needed. Results: Of 132 patients included in the study, 68 received standard ONS.
