Background: The prevalence of obesity in children is increasing rapidly and strategies are needed to tackle this health threat effectively. Study purpose: The goals of the MODUL (Mitmachen ohne Diät – ultraleicht) Project were to achieve sustained weight reduction in obese children and adolescents using a novel comprehensive step-by-step approach, including part A: dietary intervention plus education; part B: additional exercise; and part C: additional vitamin supplements.
