Background: Climate change is a unique environmental health risk. Adverse health effects of climatic changes include changes in vector distribution and food-borne infections, injuries and death following storms or floods as well as heat stroke and cardio-respiratory disease aggravation during extreme temperature events (Confalonieri et al. 2007). Although all humans are surrounded by climate, not all will be affected to the same degree by climate change.
