Zusammenfassung

On 15 December 2005, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) launched an “SME Office” to provide financial and administrative assistance to micro-, smalland medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with the aim of promoting innovation and the development of new human and veterinary medicinal products by SMEs. According to current EU definition of an SME, companies with fewer than 250 employees, and an annual turnover of not more than €50 million or an annual balance sheet total of not more than €43 million, are eligible for assistance from the SME Office.
