Aging is often described as a process of gains and losses. While in social and emotional contexts, aging is also associated with gains and plasticity, the emphasis on loss dominates with respect to physical health [30]. Multiple studies like the Berlin aging study (BASE) [ibid.] or the German aging survey [36] have examined the physical health of the older population in Germany and analyzed the most common diagnoses.
