BackgroundTraumatic events are known to have harmful effects on health throughout life [3]. Around 70% of the global population experience at least one traumatic event throughout their lifetime [19]. Many old people intentionally or unintentionally re-engage with early life traumatic experiences, which is often perceived as stressful [4, 5].
