Brief introduction to the subjectOlder patients suffer from various symptoms. This can be especially assumed for older orthopedic and rheumatic inpatients; however, it is unclear whether gaps in symptom management exist in routine care. We interviewed these patients after hospital discharge and aimed to investigate their symptoms, including those they had not reported so far. We further asked the patients what they suspected was the cause of their symptoms, how they treated them, and how they rated the support.
