Acute Oncology Services (AOS) have been an important element of oncology since an investigation into treatment related deaths. The purpose is to improve patient outcomes through improved identification and treatment of serious complications of cancer and cancer treatment. They are designed to enable prompt assessment and treatment of all patients with a cancer diagnosis.
