Zusammenfassung

We present the case of a 32-year-old woman with new onset of recurrent hypoglycemia. We discuss and explain the diagnostic workup of this regularly occurring symptom. Main causes are antidiabetic drugs in patients with diabetes mellitus as well as reactive postprandial hypoglycemia. In patients who seem healthy, the main diagnostic step is the fasting test. Further differential diagnosis includes a broad spectrum of possible causes. Our patient suffered from the insulin autoimmune syndrome caused by antibodies against insulin.
