Zusammenfassung

The article discusses the challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to mediate language in doctor–patient communication. If a physician and patient do not speak the same language, language mediation is essential to ensure adequate medical care. The absence of language mediation is an everyday problem in clinical practice. Given the present low threshold of availability, the use of AI for language mediation appears to be a rational choice.
