Background Many patients in physiotherapy practice have gait impairments, and the aim is to maintain or improve their activity level. Physical activity can be quantified by measuring step count. Activity trackers (AT) are suitable for this purpose as they can be worn during daily activities or various sports. In addition, they offer the opportunity to monitor the number of steps independently, which motivates patients and enables an objective evaluation of progress.
