Zusammenfassung

Despite their significant public health impact, the relationships between environmental sources and human Legionella infections are poorly understood due to the lack of validated detection methods for complex water matrices and insufficient comparative data across water types. Climate change is anticipated to exacerbate Legionella proliferation due to increased and sustained high temperatures and expanded water reuse.
