Einleitung Decision-making on public health (PH) interventions requires the balancing of numerous and often conflicting factors. This became especially apparent during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, where an often uncertain effect on the course of the pandemic needed to be balanced against the effect on public health beyond COVID-19, broad societal implications, or the infringement individual liberties, among others.
