Loneliness is related to diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases (CVD), diabetes, anxiety, depression, or dementia and can lead to more suicides according to WHO. Despite affecting one third of adults worldwide, the economic burden remains uncertain. In Spain, the aging population, changing social dynamics, and the COVID-19 pandemic increased loneliness.
