Patient registries comprise of an organised system and all the processes involved in documenting patients with a particular disease, condition or treatment in a common database. Provided the registries fulfil necessary quality criteria, they can be used to inform health care decisions. So far, the Austrian registry landscape, including the scope, characteristics and use of registries, is unknown. Therefore, the aim was to provide an overview of available Austrian registries.
