BackgroundThe global number of people living with dementia is expected to rise and the increasing number of people with dementia highlights the necessity for public health planning and policy initiatives to meet their needs [3]. By the end of 2021 a total of 793,461 people were being cared for in German nursing homes [5] of which 69% are considered to have dementia [17].
