MethodsDescription of a case report and discussion considering psychiatric and geriatric perspectives.AnamnesisAn 82-year-old male patient was brought to the interdisciplinary emergency room after two falls. After exclusion of severe trauma sequelae, a gait disorder and depression became apparent. The patient was transferred to a gerontological psychiatric ward of the Department for Psychiatry of the University of Kiel.The patient reported that he had been feeling lonely and increasingly socially isolated since the death of his wife.
