The burden of disease caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is particularly high in infants and small children, but also in older adults and those with severe comorbidities. Two protein-based vaccines and one mRNA vaccine are available for vaccination in Germany. The Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) recommends a single RSV vaccination with one of these vaccines as a standard vaccination for all 75-year-olds and older and furthermore a single RSV vaccination as an indication vaccination for people aged 60 to 74 who live in a care facility or suffer from severe underlying disease, if possible before…
