Koffeinhaltige Analgetika bei akuten Kopfschmerzen

Clinical studies and meta-analyses have demonstrated that analgesics containing caffeine work faster, stronger and are effective in more patients than those without caffeine. An evaluation of clinical data on adverse event frequency and patient-reported tolerability reveals no relevant differences between caffeine-containing analgesics and those without caffeine. There is therefore no rational argument against the use of caffeine-containing analgesics for the treatment of acute headaches. This is especially true when standard analgesics do not provide sufficient pain relief.
