Zusammenfassung

In Archives and libraries lie numerous unprocessed estates of high scientific value. Their processing requires high-quality metadata; digitization alone is not enough. Since 2018, the Bremen State and University Library has run courses with history students to physically organize, formally and content-wise catalog estate materials and record them in the Kalliope database. The article explains the workflow, gives examples (Hanna Hübner-Kunath and Johann Georg Kohl), and argues that collaborative processing improves access, metadata quality, and student training.
