The Expression and Localization of Gasdermin-like (GSDML) in Carcinomas and Non-lesional Tissues of the Liver, Stomach and Colon

Aims: Gasdermin-like (GSDML) is a member of the DFNA5-domain-containing protein family, which also includes DFNA5, MLZE, GSDM, and DFNA5L. Interestingly, many of the GSDML-cDNA-transcripts have previously been detected in fetal liver or hepatocellular carcinomas. Although the functions of the family are as yet unknown, DFNA5, MLZE and GSDM have been implicated in the development and progression of cancer, and GSDML and DFNA5L are also likely to be associated with cancer.
