Development of a prognostic scoring system for chronic pancreatitis (CPSS)

Introduction: The clinical course of chronic pancreatitis is remarkably unpredictable and no clinical classification to assess the severity, disease recurrence and health care expenditure has so far been established. We developed such a scoring system (CPSS) based on routine clinical and laboratory parameters to allow comparisons between patient cohorts, clinical trials and institutions.
