Summary Objective: Description of the diagnosis, surgical treatment and etiology of recurrent bowel obstruction in a miniature pig. Material and methods: Based on the history as well as on clinical examination and radiography, bowel obstruction was diagnosed in a nine-month-old miniature pig and was surgically treated. Results: Laparotomy showed haemorrhagic necrosis of the jejunum in an extension of 120 cm. Incarceration of the bowel segment could be traced back to scarring adhesions following small bowel resection four months earlier.
