Zusammenfassung

Background: Anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) has been associated with working memory enhancement and improvement of mood. However, the mechanisms of this putative antidepressant action are not understood and to date there is no study investigating the effects of tDCS on resting EEG which may help to further elucidate this issue. Here, we evaluate the distribution of neuronal electrical activity changes after anodal tDCS of the left DLPFC using standardized low resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (sLORETA) in healthy subjects.
