Zusammenfassung

ABSTRACTThere have been few human studies to date in which the effect of a ketogenic diet on the course of disease in oncological patients has been investigated over a longer period of time. This is certainly due to the fact that a high intrinsic motivation is needed to follow a ketogenic diet for a longer period of time. A supportive therapy approach in the sense of a "fasting-mimicking" ketogenic diet in combination with therapies such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy over a precisely defined period of time may appear more promising.
