Zusammenfassung

Sir Harold Ridley received knighthood in 2002. In this report I will for the first time outline the steps involved in his invention of the IOL. Also, I will discuss what I believe was one of the main, if not THE main reason that there was an unfortunate delay of 3 decades in the implementation of his invention.
