Background/aim: We analyzed expression and signal transduction of the CXCL16-CXCR6 chemokine-ligand receptor system in intestinal inflammation and aimed to identify genetic determinants modulating its role in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Methods: CXCL16 and CXCR6 expression were analyzed by Northern blotting, PCR, Western blotting and immunohistochemistry in intestinal tissues including intestinal epithelial cells (IEC).
