Development and implementation of treatment guidelines in mental health care: an international perspective

During the last years, a large number of treatment guidelines for various mental health conditions have been developed worldwide. It is still an issue of debate and scientific scrutiny to which degree the use of evidence-based treatment guidelines might contribute to improving the quality of mental health service provision, and which factors impede successful implementation.
