3D free hand reconstruction in endosonography – is there some value for the gastroenterologist?

Purpose: 3D reconstruction in endosonography is a new tool for endoscopists. However because of the free hand reconstruction technique measurements cannot be done and therefore the scientific value is limited. This case control study should give an impression about the possibilities of the method and the future perspectives.
