Study of population of patients with non-cystic bronchiectasis treated in the University Hospital of Olomouc, Czech Republic

Introduction: Bronchiectasis (BE) is a chronic disease, characterised by irreversible dilatation of bronchi. It is commonly associated with chronic productive cough, bronchial obstruction, and recurrent infections. BE (non-cystic) are often localised in the lower pulmonary lobes. The treatment of BE is focused on the successful management of the acute and chronic infection, and on the easing of the obstruction of the airways.
