Blood-retinal barrier in pseudophakias with blue-light filtering intraocular lenses

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the physiological state of the retina in longstanding pseudopakic eyes. For the purpose we have used vitreous fluoro photometry to evaluate the blood retinal barrier function. In another study we have tried to measure the autofluorescence of the retina in the longstanding pseudophakic eyes. Eyes with UV-filtering or blue-light-filtering IOL had a lower incidence of blood retinal barrier disruption than eyes with untreated (clear) IOL.
