Small Bowel Imaging with MRI

MR Enterography and MR Enteroclysis are established methodologies for assessing small bowel pathology. MR Enteroclysis (MRE) includes duodenal intubation and administration of 2lt of a biphasic contrast agent consisting of water solution with PEG. A comprehensive MRE protocol comprising true FISP, HASTE and post gadolinium FLASH seqeuences aquired in coronal and axial planes, is utilized. The most prominent clinical application of MRE is the evaluation of patients with Crohn disease.
