Male breast cancer therapeutic aspects

Male Breast Cancer is a rare disease accounting for 0,7% of all Breast Cancer (BC) diagnosis. In comparison to female BC it is characterized by older age and advanced stage at the time of presentation. A high frequency of hormone receptor expressing tumors and a low rate of lobular carcinomas are specifice features. Modified radical mastectomy prooved to be the standard surgical approach. In clinically node negative cases sentinel lymph node biopsy has been utilized with encouraging results and will probably become standard practice.
