Zusammenfassung
Purpose: The objective of our study was to detect and characterize intracranial gliomas at 1.5 T MRI in comparison to 7 T MRI. The theoretically 4.7 times higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a 7 T whole-body MR system offers an increase in spatial resolution and hence may provide a superior visualization of intracranial tumors compared with that of 1.5 T systems. The aim of this study was to determine whether 7 T MRI is superior to 1.5 T MRI in the visualization and characterization of the microvascularity of gliomas and the microarchitecture of different tumor constituents.
