Introduction: Cerebellar tumours belong to the most frequent neoplasms in childhood. They cause various signs of cerebellar motor dysfunction, including postural disorders of stance and sitting. It is of interest to delineate the factors, which correlate with the prognosis for the recovery of motor skills. More recent studies performed by our group regarding cerebellar tumours in childhood have shown that many years after surgery motor recovery is more satisfying if the lesion is restricted to the cerebellar cortex, whilst less if it includes the deep cerebellar nuclei (Konczak et al.
