Development of a European measure of best practice for people with long term mental illness in institutional care (DEMoBinc I)

This session will describe the methods and results of the DEMoBinc study, an international collaboration between ten European countries at different stages of deinstitutionalisation (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and UK). The study was funded by the European Commission and produced a web-based toolkit (the Quality Indicator for Rehabilitative Care – QuIRC) which assesses the living conditions, care and human rights of people with longer term mental health problems in European psychiatric and social care institutions.
