The role of ultrasonography in the detection of subperiostal abscess secondary to mastoiditis

Purpose: The subperiosteal abscess of the mastoid represents a form of an extracranial extension of an acute mastoiditis. Computed tomography is the examination of choice for evaluating complications of an acute otitis media, as mastoiditis.
