AbstractThe third revision of the S3 guideline on polytrauma/severe injury treatment was conducted under the leadership of the German Society for Trauma Surgery (DGU) by a total of 26 scientific medical professional societies and organizations. It represents a comprehensive update of the recommendations for the care of severely injured patients, based on new scientific findings and studies.
