Incidence of uterine sarcomas among patients operated for uterine fibroids by myomectomy and hysterectomy

Uterine fibroids are a common indication for hysterectomy or myomectomy. Even with optimal preoperative imaging, unexpected uterine sarcoma can be detected in histopathology after uterine fibroid surgery.
