Proximal and midcarpal instability following complex distal radius fractures

Fragestellung: The evaluation of operative stabilization of ligamentous trauma of the wrist following compex distal radial fractures. Methoden: Twenty-four intraarticular fractures of the distal radius associated with ligamentous injuries of the carpus were operatively treated between 1998–2002. Reduction and stabilization of the fracture was performed by augmented external fixation. Disruption of the scapholunate ligament, dorsal radiokarpal ligament and V-ligament was found in 14, 6 and 4 cases respectively.
