Zusammenfassung

There have been many reports on the differentiation of bone marrow-derived stem cells into hepatocytes in-vivo and in-vitro. The in-vivo studies showed quite remarkable results, but finally revealed mostly a fusion between pre-existing hepatocytes and infused stem cells to repair an enzyme deficiency in transgenic mice (e.g. in tyrosinemia). To identify the pivotal molecular signals involved in the hepatic differentiation of adult stem cells, we studied the changes in the proteome profile in adult, regenerating and fetal liver compared to differentiating adult stem cells.
