Epidemiology of breast cancer in Austria: incidence, mortality and survival (consent)

Introduction: It is the aim to describe in detail female breast cancer incidence, mortality and survival for the population of Austria. In addition, some information on mammography screening in Austria is given. Material and methods: Mortality data in Austria is collected by Statistics Austria, identical procedures are applied for all Austria, data are centrally coded. Incidence data are registered by the nationwide cancer registry run by Statistics Austria and by four regional registries in the provinces Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Salzburg and Carinthia.
