Ultrasound examination of parathyroid adenomas

Purpose: Determination of the significance of the ultrasonic signs of the parathyroid adenomas at the patients with a primary hyperparathyroidism. Material and methods: Study was performed on the 74 patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (69 women 5 men; age – 44.4 ± of 14.1 years). High levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH) confirmed the diagnosis. Before the operations for all patients was performed an ultrasound (“Aloka Pro Sound SSD 5500”, 7.5 – 12 MHz).
