Zusammenfassung

Aim: To evaluate the feasibility of real-time Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) for the evaluation of Achilles tendon in “normal subjects”. Patients and methods: Our study included 39 “normal” subjects (young healthy volunteers without clinical signs or a history of Achillian tendon disorders), with a mean age of 22 ± 0.8 years, 29 (74.8%) women and 10 (25.7%) men. For all subjects, 3 elastography determinations were performed for each Achillian tendon and a mean value was calculated and expressed in kilopascals (kPa).
