Hepatic Mass after a World Tour

Purpose: A 34-year-old previously healthy woman presented with increasing right upper-quadrant abdominal pain of 6 months duration, fatigue, as well as fever and chills of 2 days duration. Four weeks ago she had returned from a yearlong world tour with backpacking around South Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Materials and Methods: Laboratory examinations including serological and microbiological tests, an abdominal ultrasound and CT scan of the abdomen were performed.
